About File Type
JPG
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web pages
JPG files work best with photographs and artwork. All JPG files have white or opaque backgrounds. They can be scaled larger or smaller, however, they lose quality if scaled more than 130-150% (larger) of their original size.
PNG
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web pages
PNG files have transparent backgrounds. PNG files can be used with dark backgrounds in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
SVG
Graphic design, page layout programs, offset printing
SVG files are vector graphics. They can be scaled to any size without losing quality. SVG files are usually used for printing and high-end graphic design and printed pieces. Note: SVG files are not compatible with all programs.
